Dirt Track World Championship at PRP...
22, 2017) Dale McDowell and the SMR team rolled into Portsmouth
Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 20-21 for the 37th edition
of the 'Dirt Track World Championship,' which was once again sanctioned
by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and paid a whopping $100,000
to the victor. On Friday night, Dale finished seventh in his first
heat race of the evening and won his second and final prelim. At
PRP on Saturday, Dale drove up to battle for a coveted transfer
spot in his B-Main before getting squeezed into the backstretch
wall on the final circuit, which dropped him to fourth in the consolation
race. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace was then an early retiree in
the $3,000 to win 'Jim Dunn Memorial' for non-qualifiers to finish
seventeenth, which officially kept him out of the 100-lap 'Dirt
Track World Championship,' which was eventually won by Josh Richards.

Charges Up Inside of Top Ten in $15k Fall Classic
15, 2017) The #17m SMR team was back in Super Late Model
competition on October 13-14 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City,
Kentucky, as the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series
sanctioned the 27th running of the 'Fall Classic.' A strong 34 car
field assembled at "Kentucky's Baddest Bullring" and all
eyes in attendance were fixated on the hefty $15,000 winner's check.
On Friday night during preliminary action, Dale McDowell knocked
down the seventh fastest lap in Group A during qualifying before
grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his loaded heat
race. After starting the 75-lap headliner on Saturday evening from
the inside of the seventh row, Dale pitted near the halfway mark
in the contest and eventually rallied back up inside of the top
ten to salvage a solid seventh place showing. Complete results from
Ponderosa Speedway can be accessed online by clicking on www.southernnationalsseries.com.
Pair of Top Tens in Lucas Oil Stops in Georgia

pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series throwdowns in the Peach
State, as both the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia
and Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia hosted lucrative races in front
of huge crowds over the September 30-October 1 weekend. On Saturday
night in the annual 'Dixie Shootout,' which paid $12,000 to the
winner, Dale McDowell placed third in his loaded heat race prior
to winding up tenth in the final rundown of the 60-lap feature event.

Solid Throughout Late Model Knoxville Nationals
17, 2017) The #17m team made their way to Knoxville Raceway
in Knoxville, Iowa from September 14-16 for the 14th edition of
the 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' The Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series once again presided over the three-day crown jewel
extravaganza, which drew 56 entrants to the Hawkeye State and began
with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary shootouts. On Thursday
evening, Dale McDowell ran third in his heat race prior to advancing
up to seventh in the 25-lap feature event. At Knoxville on Friday
night, Dale finished fifth in his loaded heat race, fourth in the
B-Main, and eleventh in the 25-lapper.
By virtue of accumulating the sixteenth most single-night points
during the prelims, Dale earned the rights for the outside of the
eighth row for Saturday's 100-lap grind. During the course of the
$40,000 to win grand finale, the Chickamauga, Georgia ace fought
valiantly for a top ten showing before eventually winding up fifteenth
in the final rundown of the extra-distance affair. Full results

over the weekend can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
to Fourth in $50,000 World 100 at Eldora Speedway!!!
10, 2017) Dale McDowell and the #17m SMR team made the
journey to the hallowed 1/2-mile of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg,
Ohio from September 7-9 for the 47th edition of the 'World 100.'
The most prestigious event in our sport got underway with a pair
of Twin 25 preliminary programs, each of which paid $10,000 to the
winner. On Thursday night, Dale was leading his heat race and was
involved in a hard wreck with a spinning lapped car, which wiped
out his new Sweet-Bloomquist ride and effectively kept him out of
the 25-lap main event. At the "Big E" on Friday evening
behind the wheel of his back-up machine, Dale placed fourth in his
heat race prior to picking off seven competitors during the 25-lapper
en route to a steady ninth place effort.
All eyes then turned to the 'World 100' on Saturday at the famed
Darke County facility, as the revered globe trophy and a hefty $50,000
top prize were on the line. Dale ran fifth in his loaded heat race
and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his B-Main. After
rolling off from the inside of the thirteenth row in the 100-lap
crown jewel extravaganza, the Chickamauga, Georgia star sported
one of the fastest racecars on the track. He blitzed past twenty-one
competitors during the extra-distance affair to bag an impressive
fourth place performance behind only victor Jonathan Davenport,
Gregg Satterlee, and Mike Marlar! Complete results from the 'World
100' weekend can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Racing (SMR) team was a visit to the hallowed high-banks of Eldora
Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Sunday evening, September 3 for the
10th edition of the 'Baltes Classic.' The American Late Model Series
(ALMS) showdown drew 38 competitors to the 1/2-mile speedplant to
vie for the $3,000 winner's check. Dale McDowell - armed with a
new Sweet-Bloomquist racecar - stopped the clock sixth quickest
overall during the qualifying session prior to finishing third in
heat race action. After starting the 30-lap sprint from the outside
of the fifth row, Dale was able to blast past eight competitors
during the race to garner an impressive runner-up showing behind
only victor Billy Moyer! Full results from the 'Baltes Classic'
