his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the seventh
row in the 50-lapper, Dale steered past six competitors en route
to a solid seventh place performance. After the four-race 'Bristol

McDowell Scores Another
Victory During DIRTcar Nationals!
(February
19, 2022) The 51st edition of the 'DIRTcar Nationals' wrapped
up tonight at Volusia Speedway Park, as a total of 57 drivers entered
the finale at the Barberville, Florida speedplant to gun for the
$10,000 winner's check with the World of Outlaws Case Construction
Late Model Series. Dale McDowell stopped the clock third quickest
in Group B during time trials before claiming another heat race
triumph. After drawing the pole position and leading the first twelve
circuits in the 40-lap main event, Dale wound up third and on the
podium behind only victor Chris Madden and runner-up Mike Marlar!
(February 18, 2022) Following the
big win last night, Dale McDowell and the Shane McDowell Racing
(SMR) team were back at Volusia Speedway Park tonight gunning for
another $10,000 winner's check. Dale knocked down the third quickest
time in Group B during the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late
Model Series qualifying session and later won yet another heat race.
After drawing the sixth starting spot before the drop of the green
flag in the 40-lap headliner, "MacDaddy" moved up inside
of the top five to finish fifth at the checkers behind only feature
winner Dennis Erb, Jr., Chase Junghans, Darrell Lanigan, and Brandon
Sheppard!
(February
17, 2022) Chickamauga, Georgia Hall of Famer Dale McDowell
secured his second feature win of the young 2022 racing season earlier
tonight at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida! In night
four of the annual 'DIRTcar Nationals,' Dale clicked off the sixth
fastest lap in Group A during the World of Outlaws Case Construction
Late Model Series qualifying session prior to picking up a heat
race triumph. After starting fourth on the grid in the 40-lap main
event, Dale grabbed the point on a lap 18 restart and led the remainder
of the distance to bag the $10,000 windfall ahead of a top five
that consisted of runner-up Devin Moran, Darrell Lanigan, Chris
Madden, and Tyler Bruening!
(February 16, 2022) Dale McDowell
was busy tonight at Volusia Speedway Park, as he competed in not
only the regularly-scheduled $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Case
Construction Late Model Series program at the Barberville, Florida
facility, but also a rain-postponed feature from January's annual
'Sunshine Nationals' that boasted an additional $10,000 paycheck.
Dale won his heat race and was racing inside of the top three during
the 40-lap feature when he was unfortunately spun by another competitor
and was dropped to a disappointing twenty-first place showing. In
the make-up contest from January, Dale started the 40-lapper from
the outside of the front row and finished in the runner-up position
behind only victor Ashton Winger!
(February 15, 2022) The second night
of the 'DIRTcar Nationals' took center stage at Volusia Speedway
Park in Barberville, Florida and even though the program was paused
for awhile due to rain showers, the $7,000 to win DIRTcar Super
Late Model show was still able to get into the record books during
the wee hours of the morning. Dale McDowell timed in second quickest
in Group A during the qualifying session and later ran second in
heat race action. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then improved two
spots during the course of the 30-lap feature on his way to a solid
seventh place performance.
(February 14, 2022) Back where his
2022 campaign started in January, Dale McDowell returned to Volusia
Speedway Park today to compete in the first round of the 51st Annual
'DIRTcar Nationals.' The DIRTcar Super Late Models roared into the
Barberville, Florida facility and 47 competitors were on hand to
vie for the $7,000 first place prize money. Dale knocked down the
eighth quickest time in Group B during qualifying prior to securing
a heat race triumph. After starting fourth on the grid in the 30-lapper,
Dale wound up slipping to fifth at the checkers to finish behind
only victor Ricky Thornton, Jr., Chris Madden, Devin Moran, and
Brandon Overton!

McDowell Kicks Off Sunshine
Nationals and 2022 Season with Victory!
(January
22, 2022) In a weekend plagued by rugged track conditions
and now inclement weather, tonight's regularly scheduled 'Sunshine
Nationals' finale at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida
has been wiped out and the $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late
Model Series program will not be rescheduled.
(January 21, 2022) Following Dale
McDowell's huge season opening triumph, another $10,000 top prize
was scheduled to be on the line tonight in the second leg of the
'Sunshine Nationals' at Volusia Speedway Park. Dale earned Fast
Time honors in qualifying at the Barberville, Florida facility before
landing another heat race triumph. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace
then drew the outside of the front row for the start of the main
event and was looking to start his year with two straight World
of Outlaws Late Model Series victories. However, rain and inclement
weather invaded the Daytona Beach-area before the feature and pushed
back the remainder of the contest until Wednesday, February 16 during
the annual 'DIRTcar Nationals.'
(January
20, 2022) Making a triumphant return to the Dirt Late Model
scene after successful prostate cancer surgery last fall, Dale McDowell
dominated the opening 'Sunshine Nationals' program at Volusia Speedway
Park in Barberville, Florida! Dale knocked down the third quickest
lap in Group A during World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying
before securing a victory in his heat race. After drawing the pole
position for the main event, the headliner was pushed back to Friday
afternoon due to time constraints and a rough racing surface. When
the 'Sunshine Nationals' lid lifter finally went green, Dale led
each of the 30 circuits around the 1/2-mile oval to secure the $10,000
windfall ahead of Dennis Erb, Jr., Kyle Larson, Chris Madden, and
Hudson O'Neal! (Jacy Norgaard Photo)
