Dale McDowell and the #17m SMR team made the journey to the hallowed 1/2-mile of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from September 7-9 for the 47th edition of the 'World 100.' The most prestigious event in our sport got underway with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs, each of which paid $10,000 to the winner. On Thursday night, Dale was leading his heat race and was involved in a hard wreck with a spinning lapped car, which wiped out his new Sweet-Bloomquist ride and effectively kept him out of the 25-lap main event. Dale ran fifth in his loaded heat race and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his B-Main. After rolling off from the inside of the thirteenth row in the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza, the Chickamauga, Georgia star sported one of the fastest racecars on the track. He blitzed past twenty-one competitors during the extra-distance affair to bag an impressive fourth place performance behind only victor Jonathan Davenport, Gregg Satterlee, and Mike Marlar!
