Dale McDowell Lands in Top Ten in World Finals Opener at Charlotte

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series wrapped up their 2018 season at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina from November 1-3 in the 12th annual running of the 'World of Outlaws World Finals' presented by Can-Am. A pair of $12,000 to win contests were held in front of a standing-room-only crowd at the Charlotte-area speedplant. During the two rounds of time trials, Dale McDowell knocked down the quickest lap in Group A for Friday's show, while posted the fastest time in Group B for Saturday's spectacular.

On Friday night, Dale ran second in his loaded heat race to earn the inside of the fourth row for the start of the 50-lap main event, which was pushed back to Saturday afternoon due to a midnight curfew. The Chickamauga, Georgia standout, who was once again wheeling a Kinzer Motorsports machine, eventually landed in the tenth finishing position during the daytime affair. Later that evening in the 'World Finals' finale, Dale won his heat race in preliminary action, but was later an early retiree in the 50-lapper and was relegated to a twenty-third place performance. McDowell and Kinzer Motorsports Enter Fall Classic with No Luck...

Kinzer Motorsports made their way to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi on October 26-27 for the 24th Annual Coors Light 'Fall Classic.' The unsanctioned Super Late Model special drew a talented 43 car field to the Magnolia State facility to vie for the $15,000 winner's check. On Friday night during the qualifying session, Dale McDowell timed in fifteenth fastest in Group A on the rugged, rough racing surface. Dale then finished seventh in his stacked heat race on Saturday evening and was later caught up in a pileup during his consolation event. Unfortunately, the Chickamauga, Georgia ace was not able to transfer into the 100-lap headliner that was eventually won by Devin Moran. Dale McDowell Drives Kinzer Entry to Eleventh Place in DTWC

Next up on the racing calendar for Kinzer Motorsports was a visit to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio from October 19-21 for the 38th edition of the 'Dirt Track World Championship.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season finale took place at the facility on the banks of the Ohio River and a gargantuan $100,000 paycheck was on the line. Dale McDowell took the win in his first heat race on Friday night before placing seventh in his final prelim. After scoring a triumph in Saturday's consolation race, Dale rolled off from the outside of the ninth row in the 100-lap DTWC that was eventually pushed back to Sunday afternoon due to inclement weather. McDowell Tenth in World 100 Prelim; Rallies to Eighth in Headliner!

The rain-postponed 'World 100' took center stage in the Dirt Late Model world on October 12-13 at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Following yet another rain-out on Friday, a pair of $10,000 to win Twin 25s kicked off a hectic day/night doubleheader at the "Big E" on Saturday afternoon. Dale McDowell laid down the ninth fastest time overall during qualifying before securing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. Dale then picked off three competitors during the 25-lapper to nail down a solid tenth place effort.

At night, the sole focus of everyone in the pit area at the hallowed 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant was on the 48th Annual 'World 100' and capturing the whopping $51,000 winner's check, along with the famous globe trophies. Dale McDowell, of Chickamauga, Georgia, racked up his seventh feature win of the 2018 racing season and his largest payday of the year so far on Saturday evening, September 22 in the 'Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100' finale at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi! Dale timed in sixth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session before running second in his heat race. McDowell Drives Kinzer Motorsports Entry to Dirt Million Top Ten!

The Kinzer Motorsports team and driver Dale McDowell ventured to the immaculate Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio from August 24-25 for the inaugural running of the 'Dirt Million.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series was the sanctioning body of choice for the two-day spectacular, which kicked off on Friday night with a pair of $10,000 to win 'Dirt Million' duels. Dale ran second in his heat race and later started/finished seventh in his 30-lap duel.

On Saturday evening at Mansfield, a standing-room-only crowd poured into the facility to witness the most lucrative Super Late Model race in 2018, as the 'Dirt Million' paid a whopping nearly $203,000 to the winner. Dale won his heat race in preliminary action and later drew the tenth starting spot prior to the drop of the green flag in the 100-lap headliner. "MacDaddy" would go on to bag another top ten performance, as he crossed underneath the checkers in the eighth finishing position. Dale McDowell Climbs to Sixth in North/South 100 at Florence!

Dale McDowell and Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) spent August 8-11 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky, as the Cincinnati-area speedplant played host to a lucrative four-day stretch of racing action sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. In Wednesday's $12,000 to win 'Ralph Latham Memorial,' which was contested on a very rough racing surface, Dale ran fifth in his heat race and third in his B-Main and was not able to transfer into the 50-lap feature. On Thursday night in the 'North/South Shootout,' which paid $10,000 to the winner, Dale placed third in his heat race prior to moving up to tenth in the caution-free 50-lap main event.

When Friday evening rolled around at Florence, a double set of heat races with combined passing points were held to set the lineup for Saturday's $50,000 to win 'North/South 100.' Dale finished fourth in his first heat race of the night before scoring a victory in his second prelim. By virtue of racking up the twelfth most passing points, the Chickamauga, Georgia ace started the 100-lap crown jewel main event on Saturday from the outside of the sixth row. McDowell Streaks to Top Ten in $50,000 USA Nationals in Wisconsin!

As the calendar turned to the month of August, the #17m team found themselves near the Minnesota / Wisconsin border at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on August 2-4 for the 31st Annual 'USA Nationals,' which was sanctioned once again by the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. The extended weekend kicked off on Thursday evening with a $6,000 to win preliminary program. Dale McDowell placed seventh in his loaded heat race and fifth in his consolation event, which unfortunately did not transfer him into the 40-lapper that was won by Brandon Sheppard.

At CLS on Friday night, a double set of heat races with passing points were held to help set the lineups for Saturday's grand finale, which once again boasted a $50,000 winner's check. Dale ran seventh in his first heat race of the evening prior to picking up the triumph in his final prelim. On Saturday, Dale finished fifth in his B-Main, but later claimed the second and final transfer spot through the Last Chance Qualifier. After rolling off from the outside of the twelfth row in the 100-lap 'USA Nationals,' the Chickamauga, Georgia star blitzed past sixteen competitors during the crown jewel event to bag a solid eighth place showing. Nightly Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series Results...
(July 28, 2018)
The 2018 version of the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series wrapped up tonight at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee. Dale McDowell stopped the clock second quickest overall during the qualifying session before taking the victory in heat race action. After leading the first 21 circuits of the $10,000 to win series finale, Dale was hit in lapped traffic by Michael Chilton and suffered a flat left rear tire. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then had to rally from the tail end of the field in the 53-lap affair to salvage a fifth place showing behind only victor Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh, Michael Chilton, and Casey Roberts. Dale wound up second in the final version of the Southern Nationals Series point standings - only eight markers behind series champion Casey Roberts!

(July 27, 2018) The penultimate event of the 2018 Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series tour took the Kinzer Motorsports team to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee tonight, as a $5,300 winner's check was scheduled to be up for grabs. However, heavy rain showers passed through the area following qualifying, which wiped out the remainder of the program. A make-up date as not yet been announced by series and track officials. Dale McDowell did post the fifth quickest lap in Group B during time trials before Mother Nature intervened at the Volunteer State speedplant.

(July 26, 2018) The next leg on the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series took Dale McDowell and the Kinzer Motorsports team to Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee tonight for a $3,500 to win tilt. Dale clicked off the third quickest time in Group B during qualifying, which automatically locked him into the outside of the third row for the start of the 35-lap affair. The Chickamauga, Georgia star was then able to work his way past a trio of competitors to land on the podium in third behind only victor Brandon Overton and runner-up Casey Roberts.

(July 24, 2018) The Kinzer Motorsports team and driver Dale McDowell were back on the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals trail tonight at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. The Chattanooga-area facility drew a 28 car field and each competitor had their sights set on the $3,500 payday. Dale stopped the clock second quickest in Group B during time trials prior to rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 35-lap headliner. "MacDaddy" ran third most of the distance, but worked past Randy Weaver for second on lap 31 and quickly caught leader Vic Hill. Dale made a strong bid for his second series win of 2018, but finished a very close runner-up - a scant 0.058 seconds - behind Hill!

(July 22, 2018) The Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series headed to northern Georgia tonight for another $5,300 to win contest at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia. Dale McDowell posted the third quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session and later started the 53-lap feature event from the inside of the third row. Dale was then running in the eighth position late in the feature distance before an unfortunate incident with Michael Page. Due to Dale getting out of his car to have a friendly conversation with Page, series officials dropped the Chickamauga, Georgia ace to twenty-second in the final finishing order.

(July 21, 2018) With Screven Motor Speedway's Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series showdown falling by the wayside days ago due to inclement weather, Swainsboro Raceway stepped up to the plate to hold a second straight $5,300 to win program tonight at the Swainsboro, Georgia facility. Dale McDowell wheeled the Kinzer Motorsports entry to the second fastest lap in Group B during time trials and later started the 53-lap headliner from the outside of the second row. During the course of the race, which was contested on a one-groove racing surface, Dale moved up to third to land on the podium once again behind only victor Brandon Overton and runner-up Ross Bailes.

(July 20, 2018) Next up on the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series grind was a visit today to Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia, as a $5,300 top prize was on the line. Dale McDowell drove the Kinzer Motorsports machine to the third quickest time in Group B during qualifying, which locked him into the outside of the third row for the start of the 53-lap contest. Tonight at Toccoa Raceway in Toccoa, Georgia, Dale clicked off the second quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later started the $3,500 to win feature event from the outside of the second row. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then drove past one competitor during the course of the 35-lapper to land on the podium in the third spot behind only victor Brandon Overton and runner-up Casey Roberts!

(July 17, 2018) The Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series rolled into 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee tonight to sanction a $3,500 to win throwdown and the #17m team was in the pit area. Dale McDowell fought motor issues throughout preliminary action, but later received a series provisional to gain access into the 35-lap main event. After rolling off from the inside of the eleventh row in the headliner, Dale stormed past fourteen competitors at the Volunteer State bullring to salvage a solid seventh place effort.

(July 16, 2018) The second leg of the 2018 Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series schedule was slated to take place tonight at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. Unfortunately, a heavy thunderstorm at around 6:30 this evening washed out the $3,500 to win special event. No makeup date was immediately announced by track and series officials...

(July 14, 2018) Chickamauga, Georgia standout Dale McDowell claimed his sixth checkered flag of the 2018 racing season tonight in the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series opener at the picturesque Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia!
