victory on Thursday night, August 17 at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls
Gap, Tennessee to kick off a busy racing weekend in style! Dale qualified
second quickest in his group during Ultimate Super Late Model Series
time trials prior to scoring a victory in his loaded heat race. After
starting the 'Scorcher' from the pole position, Dale led each and every
circuit of the 50-lap affair to bag the $10,000 windfall ahead of Ross
Bailes, Vic Hill, Casey Roberts, and Dennis Franklin!
A pair of Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series races then
greeted the #17m team in the Peach State over the weekend. Up first
was a visit to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia on Saturday
evening for a $10,000 to win shootout. Dale won his heat race in preliminary
action and later moved up to second in the 60-lapper to trail only victor
Mike Marlar at the checkered flag. In the weekend finale on Sunday at
Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia, which paid $5,300 to the winner, "MacDaddy"
clicked off the fastest lap overall during qualifying before slipping
to fourth in the 53-lap main event behind only race winner Mike Marlar,

Inducted into NDLMHOF; Wins N/S 100 Non-Qualifiers Race
13, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) spent the August 10-12
weekend at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky, as they entered the
35th edition of the 'North/South 100,' which was once again sanctioned
by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The three-day crown jewel spectacular
kicked off at the undersized 1/2-mile oval on Thursday night with the
'North/South Shootout,' which paid $10,000 to the winner. Dale McDowell,
who was also inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame
over the weekend, qualified sixth fastest in Group A during time trials
prior to running fourth in his heat race and third in his B-Main. Unfortunately,
those finishes were just one spot shy of a coveted transfer position
into the 50-lap opener, which was won by Jimmy Owens.
On Friday night, the 'North/South 100' officially got underway with
a double set of qualifying heat races at the Cincinnati-area facility.
Dale placed third in his first heat race of the evening, while he crossed
the checkers seventh in his final prelim. The Chickamauga, Georgia star
then drove up to the third spot in Saturday's B-Main, but that was once
again one mere spot away from transferring into the $50,000 to win headliner.
Dale was able to salvage the weekend by scoring the $2,500 windfall
in the Non-Qualifiers Race, which was held after the completion of the

and #17m Team Treks North for $50k USA Nationals...
5, 2017) The 30th edition of the 'USA Nationals' concluded
tonight at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin
and each driver had their sights firmly set on capturing the whopping
$50,000 windfall. Dale McDowell clicked off the eighth fastest lap in
Group A during time trials last night before finishing eighth in his
heat race and third in the special FansFund Dash. After recording a
tenth place B-Main effort and running fifth in the Last Chance Qualifier,
Dale received a FansFund provisional and started at the tail of the
100-lap 'USA Nationals.' The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then climbed up
twelve spots during the crown jewel extravaganza and was credited with
a fifteenth place performance.
(August 4, 2017) The 'USA Nationals' finally kicked
off tonight at Cedar Lake Speedway and a $6,000 payday was on the line
in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series show at the New
Richmond, Wisconsin facility. Dale McDowell knocked down the seventh
quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session and later placed
third in his loaded heat race. After starting the rough and tumble 30-lapper
from the inside of the fifth row, Dale eventually finished right where
he started... in the ninth position.
(August 3, 2017) Tonight's $6,000 to win 'USA Nationals'
preliminary event at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond,
Wisconsin has been rained-out and rescheduled for tomorrow evening.
Also on tap tomorrow at CLS with the entire rain-postponed prelim program
will be the regularly scheduled time trial session and heat races for
Saturday's 'USA Nationals' headliner, which once again boasts a gigantic
$50,000 winner's check.

23, 2017) Tonight's scheduled $5,300 to win Schaeffer's Oil
Southern Nationals Series throwdown at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia
was unfortunately rained out late in the afternoon. It has been rescheduled
as a non-points event for Sunday, August 20.
(July 15, 2017) The 2017 edition of the Schaeffer's
Oil Southern Nationals Series tour kicked off earlier tonight at the
picturesque Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia. A strong field
of 28 competitors signed into the pit area at the 1/2-mile speedplant
to vie for the $10,000 winner's check in the miniseries lid lifter.
Dale McDowell stopped the clock second quickest in Group A during time
trials prior to recording a heat race triumph. After starting third
on the grid in the 53-lap headliner, Dale was racing Brandon Overton
hard for the second position when he unfortunately spun out of contention
and was placed sixteenth in the final finishing order in the attrition-filled
Moves to Sixth in Mountain Moonshine Classic!
9, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) rolled into Smoky Mountain
Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday evening, July 8 for the
annual running of the 'Mountain Moonshine Classic,' which was once again
sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. A stout 32 car field
assembled at the 4/10-mile complex to vie for the $12,000 winner's check.
Dale McDowell laid down the sixth quickest lap in Group B during the
qualifying session and later grabbed the third transfer spot through
his stacked heat race. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then rallied past
six competitors during the 60-lap finale on his way to a strong sixth
place showing behind only winner Jimmy Owens, Brandon Overton, Scott

Climbs to Sixth in $30,000 Firecracker 100!
25, 2017) The #17m team made their way to Lernerville Speedway
in Sarver, Pennsylvania from June 22-24 for the annual running of the
'Firecracker 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws
Craftsman Late Model Series. After inclement weather wiped out the first
two days in the Keystone State, a day/night doubleheader was held on
Saturday starting with a $6,000 to win afternoon show.
Dale McDowell ran fourth in his heat race, but mechanical troubles
before the start of the 30-lapper relegated him to twenty-sixth in the
final rundown. During the evening portion of the double-dip, Dale also
ran fourth in his stacked heat race prior to blasting past seven competitors
during the $30,000 to win 'Firecracker 100,' which went 100 laps caution-free,
en route to a solid sixth place performance behind only winner Brandon

a Fixture in Top Ten Throughout DLM Dream Weekend
11, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) traveled to the Buckeye
State of Ohio from June 8-10 for the 23rd edition of the 'Dirt Late
Model Dream.' A stellar field of 79 Super Late Model competitors signed
in at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and all eyes were
focused on the whopping $100,000 winner's share. Things kicked off at
the "Big E" on Thursday and Friday with a pair of preliminary
programs, which paid $5,000 and $10,000 to win respectively in Twin
25 lap sprints.
Dale McDowell finished third in heat race action on Thursday night
prior to moving up to eighth in the 25-lap main event. On Friday evening,
Dale grabbed the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race
before blasting past eleven competitors during the 25-lapper en route
to a strong seventh place effort. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then
ran fourth in his stacked heat race on Saturday before taking the victory

McDowell trekked to the state-of-the-art Virginia Motor Speedway in
Jamaica, Virginia on Saturday, June 3 for the annual edition of the
'USA 100.' The Ultimate Super Late Model Series presided over the single-day
throwdown, which boasted a hefty $20,000 paycheck. Dale McDowell posted
the quickest lap in his group during qualifying prior to taking the
victory in his heat race. After starting the 60-lapper from the inside
of the second row, Dale fell back early in the distance before charging

30, 2017) Dale McDowell, of Chickamauga, Georgia, swept a trio
of Super Late Model specials in the states of Georgia and Tennessee
from May 27-29 to pocket a hefty $21,000 windfall! On Saturday evening
at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, Dale stopped the
clock quickest in Group B during Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series
qualifying and later led all fifty circuits of the headliner to bag
the $5,000 winner's check ahead of Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh,
Michael Page, and Jason Croft. At Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on
Sunday night, Dale once again qualified fastest in Group B during the
Spring Nationals time trial session prior to leading the last twenty

Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday night, May 13 for the annual
running of the 'Mountain Outlaw 50,' which was sanctioned by the World
of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. Dale McDowell timed in sixth
fastest overall during qualifying prior to running second in his stacked
heat race. After drawing the third starting spot for the $10,000 to
win main event, Dale was running in the third position early in the
50-lapper when a broken rear-end unfortunately sent him pitside. The
Chickamauga, Georgia ace was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth
place effort in last night's 'Mountain Outlaw 50' due to the mechanical

the 2017 campaign in exciting fashion on Sunday evening, May 7 at Rome
Speedway in Rome, Georgia! Dale stopped the clock second quickest in

started the 40-lap main event from the outside of the second row. "MacDaddy"
then bolted past leader Brandon Overton with only three laps remaining

On Saturday night, May 6, the #17m SMR team was in the pit area at
Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama for a $4,000 to win Southern
All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) shootout. Dale laid down the fastest
lap overall during the qualifying session prior to leading the first
27 circuits in the headliner. At the checkers following forty green
flag laps at TST, the Chickamauga, Georgia standout was a close runner-up
