McDowell a Fixture in Top Ten Throughout DLM Dream Weekend

(June 11, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) traveled to the Buckeye State of Ohio from June 8-10 for the 23rd edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' A stellar field of 79 Super Late Model competitors signed in at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and all eyes were focused on the whopping $100,000 winner's share. Things kicked off at the "Big E" on Thursday and Friday with a pair of preliminary programs, which paid $5,000 and $10,000 to win respectively in Twin 25 lap sprints.

Dale McDowell finished third in heat race action on Thursday night prior to moving up to eighth in the 25-lap main event. On Friday evening, Dale grabbed the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race before blasting past eleven competitors during the 25-lapper en route to a strong seventh place effort. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then ran fourth in his stacked heat race on Saturday before taking the victory in his B-Main. Dale then stormed by fifteen racecars during the 100-lap extra distance affair on his way to a sterling sixth place 'Dirt Late Model Dream' performance behind only winner Scott Bloomquist, Brandon Sheppard, Brandon Overton, Tim McCreadie, and Chris Madden! Dale McDowell Lands on Podium in $20,000 USA 100!!

(June 4, 2017) The Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) team and driver Dale McDowell trekked to the state-of-the-art Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia on Saturday, June 3 for the annual edition of the 'USA 100.' The Ultimate Super Late Model Series presided over the single-day throwdown, which boasted a hefty $20,000 paycheck. Dale McDowell posted the quickest lap in his group during qualifying prior to taking the victory in his heat race. McDowell Sweeps Memorial Day Weekend for $21,000 Windfall!!!

(May 30, 2017) Dale McDowell, of Chickamauga, Georgia, swept a trio of Super Late Model specials in the states of Georgia and Tennessee from May 27-29 to pocket a hefty $21,000 windfall! On Saturday evening at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, Dale stopped the clock quickest in Group B during Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series qualifying and later led all fifty circuits of the headliner to bag the $5,000 winner's check ahead of Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh, Michael Page, and Jason Croft. At Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on Sunday night, Dale once again qualified fastest in Group B during the Spring Nationals time trial session prior to leading the last twenty circuits of the A-Main en route to capturing the $6,000 payday over Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh, Ricky Weiss, and Derek Ellis.

In the weekend finale on Monday at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee, a strong contingent of competitors were on hand for a special Memorial Day throwdown, which was sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. Dale qualified well and later won his heat race in preliminary action. "MacDaddy" then drove to the front and grabbed the point on the 28th circuit before leading the remainder of the 50-lap distance. Broken Rear-End Drops McDowell Out of Contention in Mountain Outlaw 50

(May 14, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) bolted to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday night, May 13 for the annual running of the 'Mountain Outlaw 50,' which was sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. Dale McDowell timed in sixth fastest overall during qualifying prior to running second in his stacked heat race. After drawing the third starting spot for the $10,000 to win main event, Dale was running in the third position early in the 50-lapper when a broken rear-end unfortunately sent him pitside. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth place effort in last night's 'Mountain Outlaw 50' due to the mechanical troubles. McDowell Makes Late Move at Rome to Claim $4,000 Payday!!

(May 8, 2017) Dale McDowell racked up his second feature win of the 2017 campaign in exciting fashion on Sunday evening, May 7 at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia! Dale stopped the clock second quickest in his group during Ultimate Super Late Model Series time trials and later started the 40-lap main event from the outside of the second row. "MacDaddy" then bolted past leader Brandon Overton with only three laps remaining to score the $4,000 windfall over Overton, Donald McIntosh, Jonathan Davenport, and Michael Page!

On Saturday night, May 6, the #17m SMR team was in the pit area at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama for a $4,000 to win Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) shootout. Dale laid down the fastest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to leading the first 27 circuits in the headliner. At the checkers following forty green flag laps at TST, the Chickamauga, Georgia standout was a close runner-up behind only victor Brandon Overton. Dale McDowell Blitzes to Volunteer Speedway Podium Finish!

(April 30, 2017) The #17m Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) team entered a pair of high-profile specials in east Tennessee over the April 28-29 weekend, as they invaded Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap and Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville. On Friday night at "The Gap," the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series presided over the annual 'Scott Sexton Memorial' and a $10,052 payday was on the line. Dale McDowell timed in seventh quickest in Group A during qualifying and later placed third in heat race action. After slipping back to thirteenth in the caution-free 52-lap headliner, Dale blitzed back through the talented field to place third in the final finishing order behind only winner Mike Marlar and runner-up Chris Madden!

At Smoky Mountain on Saturday evening, the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) came to town to sanction the 'Rockin with the Stars 50,' which boasted a $7,500 winner's check. Dale clicked off the second quickest lap in Group B during qualifying, but later experienced fuel pick-up problems in his heat race. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series sanctioned the single-day throwdown at VMS and a whopping $20,000 winner's check was on the line. Dale McDowell clicked off the fastest lap in his group during time trials and later placed second in his loaded heat race. Dale McDowell Conquers Spring Shootout for $7,500 Payday!!!

(April 3, 2017) Chickamauga, Georgia star Dale McDowell recorded his first triumph of the 2017 racing season on Saturday evening, April 1 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee! After posting the fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session, Dale started the 50-lap 'Spring Shootout' from the pole position. Dale then dominated the unsanctioned feature event from green to checkers to score the $7,500 winner's check ahead of Donald McIntosh, Chris Ferguson, Brandon Overton, and Michael Chilton!

The #17m team also entered a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns over the March 31-April 2 weekend in the states of Georgia and Tennessee. On Friday night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, Dale ran third in his loaded heat race and later wound up seventh in the 50-lapper - despite suffering damage from a scrape with Mike Marlar. (March 26, 2017) Dale McDowell and the #17m SMR team made the trek to Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia on March 24-25 for the annual running of the 'Spring Nationals,' which was sanctioned by the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series. On Friday evening in the $4,000 to win weekend opener, Dale laid down the fastest lap overall during qualifying before finishing an impressive runner-up in the 40-lapper behind only victor Michael Page. (March 12, 2017) Over the March 10-11 weekend, the #17m SMR team was in the pit area at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee, as the 4th edition of the 'Tennessee Tipoff Classic' boasted a $15,000 payday. Dale McDowell posted the third quickest time in Group B during Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series qualifying on Friday night before finishing second in his stacked heat race. While Dale was slated to roll off from the outside of the third row in Saturday's 75-lap headliner, heavy afternoon snow showers wound up postponing the remainder of the mega-event until Thursday, May 4.
