Notches Another Runner-Up Effort at County Line Raceway |
(May
19, 2013) Dale McDowell and the #17m TDR team stormed into
the County Line Raceway in Elm City, North Carolina on Friday night,
May 17 for a $5,000 to win Ultimate Super Late Model Series clash. Dale
qualified second quickest in Ultimate time trials, which locked him
into the outside of the front row for the 50-lap feature event. With
passing at a premium throughout the race, Dale tucked into second at
the drop of the green flag and finished a strong runner-up behind only
winner Chris Madden when the event was halted after 41 circuits due
to rain. Saturday's $10,000 to win 'USA 100' was also canceled due to
inclement weather at the Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia.

Runner-Up Finishes for Dale McDowell with Spring Nationals! |

12, 2013) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) and driver Dale McDowell
rolled into the Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee and the
Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia from May 9-11 for a pair of Spring
Nationals showdowns. On Thursday night at Duck River, Dale timed in
second quickest in Group B during the qualifying session and later started
the $4,000 to win A-Main from the outside of the second row. The Chickamauga,
Georgia ace sported a fast racecar throughout the 40-lapper and eventually
finished a strong second behind only race winner Tim McCreadie.
At Dixie on Saturday evening, a $6,000 top prize was on
the line in the next-to-last Spring Nationals race of the year. Dale
posted the second fastest time in Group A during qualifying, which earned
him the rights to the inside of the second row for the 50-lap feature
event. "MacDaddy" then drove to the lead on the tenth circuit
and held the point up until lap 24. At the conclusion of the race, Dale
found himself credited with another runner-up performance behind only

Gremlins Halt McDowell at Smoky Mountain Speedway... |
(April
28, 2013) Dale McDowell and the #17m TDR team invaded the Volunteer
State of Tennessee on April 26-27 for a pair of $10,000 to win World
of Outlaws Late Model Series tilts. On Friday night at the Smoky Mountain
Speedway in Maryville, Dale started off his evening by clicking off
the sixth fastest time in Group B during the qualifying session. Unfortunately,
Dale then slowed early in his heat race after his engine lost a cylinder
and he wound up seventh in his prelim. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace
scratched from the remainder of the program, as the team was unable
to make a quick repair.
Saturday's $10,000 to win WOOLMS show scheduled for the
bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee was then won by Mother

in Spring Nationals Action at Tri-County & Smoky Mountain |
(April
14, 2013) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) and driver Dale McDowell
tackled a pair of Spring Nationals events in the states of North Carolina
and Tennessee over the April 12-13 weekend. On Friday night, the Tri-County
Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina played host to a $4,000 to win
program. Dale timed in seventh quickest in his group during the qualifying
session, but later won his B-Main to gain access into the 40-lap feature
event. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace started ninth on the grid, but moved
all the way up to second before suffering a flat tire on the final circuit.
Dale was able to hold on to finish fourth behind only winner Casey Roberts,
Billy Ogle, Jr., and Stacy Boles.
The action quickly shifted to the Smoky Mountain Speedway
in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday evening for a $6,000 to win showdown.
Dale laid down the fourth fastest lap in Group B during time trials,
which locked him into the outside of the fourth row in the 50-lapper.
"MacDaddy" was inside of the top five shortly after the halfway
point before an incident in turns one and two took him out of contention
and pushed him back to a fourteenth place effort. Full results from

of 2013 for McDowell Comes at North Georgia Speedway! |
(April
7, 2013) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) racked
up their third feature win of the 2013 racing season on Saturday evening,
April 6 at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia! Dale posted
the third fastest lap during the Ultimate Super Late Model Series qualifying
session, which locked him into the inside of the second row for the
start of the 40-lap main event. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then grabbed
the lead from TDR teammate Austin Dillon on the second circuit and led
the remainder of the race to capture the $4,000 top prize. Dale beat
Randy Weaver, Ray Cook, Austin Dillon, and Casey Roberts to the checkers.

Competes in Carolina Crown at Lancaster... |
(March 31, 2013) Team
Dillon Racing (TDR) ventured to the Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster,
South Carolina on March 29-30 for the 2nd Annual 'Carolina Crown.' The
unsanctioned blockbuster paid $30,000 to the winner, but only 21 cars
rolled into the sprawling 1/2-mile speedplant. On Friday night, Dale
McDowell laid down the seventh fastest lap during the qualifying session
and later placed third in his heat race. After starting seventh on the
grid in the 60-lap main event on Saturday, Dale battled an ill-handling
racecar and eventually pulled off the racing surface and settled for

24, 2013) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) rolled
into the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday
evening, March 23 for a $5,000 to win Southern All Stars Dirt Racing
Series (SAS) battle. In qualifying, Dale posted the the second fastest
lap in Group B, which locked him into the outside of the second row
for the start of the 40-lapper. Despite suffering panhard bar issues
during the course of the race, the Chickamauga, Georgia ace was still
able to cross underneath the checkers in the fourth spot behind only
winner Jonathan Davenport, Ray Cook, and Steve Casebolt. Full results

16, 2013) TDR and driver Dale McDowell returned to action tonight
in the 'Spring Thaw' finale at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap,
Tennessee. The Spring Nationals showdown boasted a $10,000 top prize.
Dale timed in fifth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session
and later placed third in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from
the inside of the fifth row in the 60-lap main event, Dale ran amongst
the top ten throughout the distance before logging a steady ninth place
effort.

10, 2013) Dale McDowell picked up his first victory of the
young 2013 campaign on Friday night, March 8 at the Boyd's Speedway
in Ringgold, Georgia! After laying down the second quickest lap in the
qualifying session, Dale started the unsanctioned 40-lap main event
from the outside of the front row. He ran second for the first half
of the race before blasting by polesitter Jonathan Davenport to grab
the point on lap 20. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then sped away to
claim the $4,000 top prize over Davenport, Randy Weaver, Billy Ogle,
Jr., and Steve Casebolt.
The dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to the north,
as the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee hosted the 18th Annual
'Shamrock' on Saturday evening, March 9. Dale posted the fastest lap
in his group during the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS)
time trial session and later won his heat race. After rolling off from
the outside of the front row in the $10,000 to win A-Main, Dale led
the first fourteen circuits of the 50-lapper before winding up fourth
in the final rundown. "MacDaddy" crossed underneath the checkers
in the caution-free affair behind only winner Randy Weaver, Mike Marlar,
