McDowell Rallies to Eighth in 34th Annual Dirt Track World Championship!

(October 20, 2014) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) and driver Dale McDowell traveled to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 17-19 for the 34th Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship.' The season finale for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drew a stellar field of 89 competitors to the south-central Ohio facility, as a whopping $50,000 top prize was on the line. On Friday night, Dale clicked off the twenty-first quickest lap in Group A during qualifying and later finished fourth in his heat race behind only prelim winner Scott Bloomquist, Josh Richards, and Brandon Sheppard.

Following a rain-out on Saturday evening, the conclusion of the DTWC weekend took place on Sunday afternoon at PRP. Dale grabbed the second and final transfer spot through his B-Main and later rolled off starting twenty-third on the grid in the 100-lap crown jewel main event. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then rallied all the way up to the eighth spot in the daytime affair to earn a hard-fought top ten performance. Dale McDowell Leads Middle Stages of Dixie Shootout; Lands Runner-Up

(October 6, 2014) Dale McDowell and TDR invaded a pair of Peach State venues on October 4-5 for two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts, which each boasted a $10,000 top prize. On Saturday night at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, Dale qualified third fastest in Group B during time trials prior to picking up the win in heat race action. After starting the 50-lap 'Dixie Shootout' from the outside of the front row, Dale led laps 16-32 before settling for a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Chris Madden!

The doubleheader weekend then wrapped up on Sunday evening at the ultra-fast Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia, as another $10,000 winner's check was on the line in the annual running of the 'Rome Showdown.' Dale knocked down the fifth quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and later finished second in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the third row in the 50-lapper, the Chickamauga, Georgia star unfortunately broke an oil line and drew a lap six caution, which dropped him to a disappointing twenty-second place effort. McDowell Solid During Knoxville Nationals Weekend in Hawkeye State

(September 28, 2014) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) and driver Dale McDowell ventured west to the hallowed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from September 25-27 for the 11th Annual 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' The three-day crown jewel spectacular started with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary programs at the 1/2-mile Marion County fairgrounds speedplant. On Thursday night, Dale laid down the quickest lap of the 79 entrants during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying prior to running third in his heat race and eleventh in the 25-lap main event. At Knoxville on Friday evening, Dale once again finished third in his loaded heat race before winding up seventh in the 25-lapper.

By virtue of his high point total from Friday, Dale earned the fifth starting spot for Saturday's 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals' headliner, which once again boasted a hefty $40,000 payday. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then ran as high as third early in the 100-lap distance before ultimately getting caught up in lap 49 tangle with Brady Smith. Dale retired from the Knoxville biggie following the incident and was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fifth place performance. Dale McDowell Charges to Top Five in 35th Annual Jackson 100

(September 21, 2014) Dale McDowell and the #17m TDR team returned to racing action on September 19-20 in the 35th Annual 'Jackson 100' at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. Things kicked off at the 1/4-mile oval with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying on Friday night and Dale knocked down the ninth fastest lap in Group A during the time trial session. When Saturday evening rolled around, Dale ran fifth in his heat race prior to winning his B-Main to advance into the $20,000 to win headliner. After starting the 100-lapper from the inside of the ninth row, the Chickamauga, Georgia star vaulted up to as high as fourth in the running order before settling for a fifth place effort behind only winner Scott Bloomquist, Don O'Neal, Chris Simpson, and Mike Marlar. 44th Annual World 100 Weekend Nightly Results...

(September 6, 2014) The 44th edition of the 'World 100' wrapped up tonight at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and all eyes were fixated on the prestigious globe trophy, as well as the hefty $47,000 winner's check. Dale McDowell scored the win in his loaded heat race, which placed him starting from the outside of the front row in the 100-lap grind. Dale then led the 'World 100' from laps 1-18 and 20-71 before settling for a strong runner-up effort behind only victor Scott Bloomquist!

(September 5, 2014) Another $5,000 top prize was on the line for the #17m TDR team tonight at Eldora (OH) Speedway. Dale McDowell clicked off the twenty-first quickest lap during the qualifying session prior to finishing second in heat race action behind only prelim winner Ryan Gustin. Dale then started his 25-lap feature event from the inside of the sixth row and was able to pick up one spot during the race to finish in the tenth position.

(August 17, 2014) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) ventured to Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on August 15-16 for the 22nd edition of the 'Topless 100.' On Friday night, Dale McDowell timed in ninth fastest in Group A during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and later ran second in his stacked heat race behind only prelim victor Jonathan Davenport. After starting from the inside of the sixth row in Saturday's $40,000 to win crown jewel main event, Dale put on a clinic in driving past nine competitors en route to an impressive runner-up showing. McDowell and TDR Back in Action in North/South 100 at Florence

(August 10, 2014) Dale McDowell and the #17m TDR team returned to racing action on August 8-9 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky, as the 32nd Annual 'North/South 100' paid a whopping $50,000 to the winner. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie featured a passing points format for the first time with double heat races instead of the normal qualifying procedure. Dale finished third in his first heat race on Friday night, while he placed fifth in his second and final prelim of the evening. After running sixth in his dash on Saturday, Dale was unfortunately an early retiree in the 'North/South 100' and was relegated to a twenty-third place effort. 8th Annual Firecracker 100 Nightly Results...

(June 28, 2014) The Team Dillon Racing (TDR) entry of Dale McDowell concluded the World of Outlaws Late Model Series-sanctioned 8th Annual ‘Firecracker 100’ tonight at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Following a hard crash in last night's heat race, the Chickamauga, Georgia driver unloaded his back-up Warrior mount and finished second in his loaded heat race tonight behind only prelim victor Darrell Lanigan. After drawing the eleventh starting spot prior to the drop of the green flag in the $30,000 to win mega-event, Dale blasted past seven competitors during the 100-lapper, which was cut short by ten circuits due to rain showers. "MacDaddy" was credited with a hard-fought fourth place performance at Lernerville tonight behind only 'Firecracker 100' winner Darrell Lanigan, Scott Bloomquist, and John Blankenship!

(June 27, 2014) Dale McDowell and his Team Dillon Racing (TDR) team returned to dirt-slinging action tonight in night two of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series-sanctioned ‘Firecracker 100’ at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Dale would start the night by qualifying in the eleventh position in Group B, but unfortunately endured a hard wreck in his heat race that not only dropped him to an eighth place prelim finish, but also caused him to scratch for the rest of the evening. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace did not compete in the $6,000 to win feature, which was ultimately won by Jimmy Owens.

(June 26, 2014) Dale McDowell, of Chickamauga, Georgia, was back in action tonight at the storied Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania in round one of the 8th Annual 'Firecracker 100' weekend. Dale timed in fourteenth fastest in the second qualifying group for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series-sanctioned extravaganza. Dale then finished fourth in his heat race prior to picking up an impressive victory in his B-Main. After starting the $6,000 to win feature from the inside of the eleventh row, Dale proceeded to pick off eight competitors during the 30-lapper to claim a respectable thirteenth place effort.

 
McDowell Competes in LOLMDS Double-Dip at Cherokee & Smoky Mountain

(June 22, 2014) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) returned to dirt-slinging action on June 20-21 in a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina and Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. On Friday night in the annual 'Grassy Smith Memorial' at Cherokee, Dale grabbed the sixth and final transfer spot through his heat race and later wound up fifteenth in the 50-lap feature event. At Smoky Mountain on Saturday evening, Dale was involved in a heat race wreck, but later received a Fast Time provisional to gain access into the 50-lap headliner. The Chickamauga, Georgia star was eventually placed twentieth in the final rundown of the 'Ole Smoky Moonshine Classic.' Dale McDowell knocked down the fourth fastest time of the 78 entrants during qualifying and later placed third in his stacked heat race behind only prelim winner Billy Moyer and runner-up Steve Francis. After rolling off from the outside of the fifth row in his 25-lap main event, Dale was able to pick off four competitors en route to a solid sixth place showing.

 
McDowell Sweeps Spring Nationals Weekend to Pocket $10,000!!!

(May 25, 2014) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) swept the final two Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals Series events on May 23-24 to pocket a total of $10,000! On Friday night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, Dale laid down the quickest lap overall during qualifying to earn the outside front row starting spot for the 40-lap feature event. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then led from flag-to-flag at the Chattanooga area facility to claim the $4,000 payday ahead of Billy Ogle, Jr., Ivedent Lloyd, Jr., Donald McIntosh, and Jamie Perry!

The action quickly shifted to the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening for the Spring Nationals finale. (May 8, 2014) After nearly a month away from the racetrack, Dale McDowell quickly returned back to form tonight, as he notched his second feature win of the 2014 racing season at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee! The Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals tour rolled into Duck River tonight and 32 competitors signed into the pit area. Dale timed in sixth fastest in Group B during the qualifying session, but later won his consolation race to advance into the night's 40-lapper.
