McDowell Earns $10,000 Windfall for Winning Southern Nationals Opener!

(July 17, 2016) Dale McDowell and the #17m TDR team made it two-for-two with their new Sweet-Bloomquist racecar on Saturday night, July 16 in the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series opener at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia! After a long rain delay, Dale timed in fourth fastest in Group A during qualifying, which locked him into the inside of the fourth row for the start of the 53-lap main event. The "MacDaddy" then drove to the front of the field and took the point from Donald Bradsher on lap 49. (July 10, 2016) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) unveiled a new Sweet-Bloomquist racecar on Saturday evening, July 9 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee and Dale McDowell promptly parked it in victory lane in the 'Mountain Moonshine Classic,' which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series! Dale knocked down the third fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session prior to scoring a victory in his loaded heat race. After starting the 60-lap headliner from the pole position, the Chickamauga, Georgia star led each and every circuit to bag the $12,000 windfall over Jared Landers, Scott Bloomquist, Tim McCreadie, and Steve Francis! McDowell Leads Early in Firecracker 100; Lands on Podium of $30k Special!

(June 26, 2016) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) invaded Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on June 23-25 for the annual running of the 'Firecracker 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. After Thursday's preliminary program was pushed back to Saturday afternoon due to heavy rainfall, Friday's $6,000 to win show went off without a hitch. Dale laid down the quickest lap overall during qualifying to earn Fast Time honors prior to slipping back to third in his heat race. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then started the 30-lapper from the inside of the seventh row before finishing right where he started... in the thirteenth position.

In the rain-postponed $6,000 to win prelim on Saturday afternoon, Dale won his heat race and later moved up to seventh in the 30-lap feature event. During the nightcap, the popular driver known as the "MacDaddy" ran second in his heat race and later drew the third starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 'Firecracker 100,' which once again boasted a hefty $30,000 payday. Dale then vaulted to the front to lead laps 17-53 before eventually settling for an impressive third place podium performance behind only victor Scott Bloomquist and runner-up Josh Richards! Dale McDowell on Podium in $100,000 Dirt Late Model Dream!!!

(June 12, 2016) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) made the trek to the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 9-11 for the 22nd edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Things got underway at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Dale McDowell won his heat race in preliminary action and later climbed to fourth in the $5,000 to win main event to finish behind only winner Brandon Sheppard, Ricky Thornton, Jr., and Billy Moyer. In Friday's $10,000 to win show, Dale placed third in his heat race prior to passing six competitors during the 25-lap sprint to run fifth behind only victor Brandon Sheppard, Dennis Erb, Jr., Bobby Pierce, and Billy Moyer.

All eyes on Saturday evening at the "Big E" were solely focused on the whopping $100,000 winner's check in 'Dream XXII.' Dale grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his loaded heat race and later rolled off from the inside of the ninth row in the 100-lap headliner. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then proceeded to drive past fourteen cars during the extra-distance affair en route to an impressive third place podium performance behind only $100,000 winner Dennis Erb, Jr. and runner-up Josh Richards! McDowell Earns Top Fives in Spring Nationals Holiday Triple Shot!

(May 30, 2016) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) were in the Peach State of Georgia from May 27-29 to compete in the final three Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals tour events of 2016. On Friday night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, a $4,000 top prize was on the line in the weekend opener. Dale won his consolation event and later climbed past three competitors during the 40-lapper en route to a strong third place podium performance behind only victor Mike Marlar and runner-up Donald McIntosh.

Another $4,000 winner's check was up for grabs on Saturday evening at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia. Dale clicked off the fastest time in Group B during qualifying, ran second in the fast dash, and later finished third once again in the 40-lap main event behind only race winner Mike Marlar and runner-up Casey Roberts. In the $6,000 to win weekend finale on Sunday at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia, the Chickamauga, Georgia star won his B-Main prior to advancing up to fourth in the 50-lap headliner to trail only winner Jonathan Davenport, Casey Roberts, and Jason Croft at the checkers. Dale McDowell Competes in Inaugural $50k Buckeye Nationals

(May 15, 2016) The #17m team trekked to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on May 13-14 for the inaugural running of the 'Buckeye Nationals.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the two-day extravaganza, which boasted a whopping $50,000 payday and drew a stellar field of 49 entrants. Dale McDowell knocked down the tenth quickest lap in Group A during Friday's qualifying session prior to grabbing the third and final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting Saturday's 75-lap headliner from the inside of the seventh row, Dale was able to advance a couple of positions on his way to a respectable eleventh place performance. (May 8, 2016) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) and driver Dale McDowell made the trip to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday evening, May 7 for a stop by the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. The 'Mountain Outlaw 50' took place last night at SMS and a $10,000 top prize was on the line. Dale timed in fifth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the 50-lapper from the inside of the fifth row, Dale was able to move past a couple of competitors during the caution-free affair on his way to a solid seventh place showing. Dale McDowell Fourth in SAS Stop at Talladega Short Track

(May 1, 2016) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) trekked to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on April 29-30 for a doubleheader weekend at the "Hornets Nest," which accompanied NASCAR's visit at the nearby Talladega Superspeedway. Following a rain-out of the $2,000 to win weekend opener on Friday night, the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) presided over a $4,000 to win shootout on Saturday evening. Dale laid down the second quickest lap in Group A during qualifying, which locked him into the inside of the second row for the start of the 40-lap main event. The Chickamauga, Georgia standout then ran as high as third during the race before slipping back to fourth at the checkers behind only race winner Jason Hiett, Riley Hickman, and Cory Hedgecock. On Friday night in the $4,000 to win opener, Dale McDowell timed in fifth quickest in Group B during qualifying prior to taking the victory in his heat race. After starting the 40-lap headliner from the outside of the third row, Dale scooted past four competitors on his way to a stellar runner-up effort behind only victor Mike Marlar!

At "The Gap" on Saturday evening, a $10,000 top prize was on the line in the weekend finale. Dale clicked off the quickest lap in Group B during qualifying and later took the win in heat race action. McDowell Tackles LOLMDS Doubleheader; Finishes Sixth at Boyd's

(April 3, 2016) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) entered a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shootouts on April 1-2 in the states of Georgia and Alabama. On Friday night in front of a jammed-packed crowd at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, Dale McDowell clicked off the second fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session prior to picking up the win in his heat race. After starting the $10,000 to win main event from the outside of the second row, Dale ran amongst the leaders before slipping back to finish sixth in the 50-lapper behind only winner Chris Madden, Randy Weaver, Jared Landers, Jonathan Davenport, and Scott Bloomquist.

At the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday evening, a $12,000 top prize was on the line in the annual running of the 'Bama Bash.' Dale qualified fourteenth quickest overall during time trials and later ran fourth in his loaded heat race. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then rolled off from the inside of the sixth row in the 60-lap 'Bama Bash,' but eventually retired from the action-packed race in the fifteenth position.
