Dale McDowell Charges to Runner-Up in Cotton Pickin' 100 at The Mag!

(September 25, 2016) The #17m team traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on September 23-24 for the annual running of the 'Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100.' The unsanctioned Super Late Model special attracted 62 competitors to "The Mag" to vie for the $20,000 payday. Dale McDowell laid down the fifth quickest time in Group B during Friday night's qualifying session prior to running second in his heat race behind only prelim winner Jack Sullivan. McDowell Lands in Top Five of Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals Prelim

(September 18, 2016) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) tackled another crown jewel event over the September 15-17 weekend in the Hawkeye State, as the historic Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa played host to the 13th Annual 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the three-day spectacular at the Marion County Fairgrounds oval, which started with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary showdowns. At Knoxville on Thursday night, Dale McDowell was running strong in his heat race until radiator problems relegated him to a tenth place finish and forced him to scratch from the remainder of the program. On Friday evening, Dale clicked off the fastest time in Group B during qualifying, finished third in his heat race, and later advanced up to fourth in the 25-lapper to finish behind only winner Josh Richards, Jimmy Owens, and Shannon Babb!

By virtue of accumulating the third most points during the unique format, Dale locked himself into the inside of the second row for the start of Saturday's 100-lap 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals' finale, which once again carried a stout $40,000 winner's share. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace unfortunately ran into more mechanical woes during the extra-distance affair and retired in the twenty-second position. Dale McDowell Leads World 100 on Three Occasions; Finishes on Podium!

(September 11, 2016) The #17m team and driver Dale McDowell, along with 107 other competitors, made their way to the famed high-banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 8-10 for the 46th edition of the 'World 100.' The three-day spectacular at the 1/2-mile, Darke County oval kicked off with a pair of $10,000 to win Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Dale placed fourth in his heat race prior to moving up to fourteenth at the completion of the 25-lap sprint. At the track known as the "Big E" on Friday evening, Dale ran second in his heat race and later slipped back to fifth in the 25-lapper to trail only victor Bobby Pierce, Devin Moran, Jimmy Mars, and Don O'Neal at the checkers.

At Eldora Speedway on Saturday, the weekend concluded with the "Biggest Dirt Race in the World" and everyone in attendance had their sights set on the $49,000 top prize, along with the storied globe trophy. Dale won his loaded heat race, which earned him the rights to the pole position for the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza. McDowell Competes in Keyser's Great Lakes Shootout at Merritt

(August 29, 2016) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) were back on the track at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan from August 26-28. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned a pair of events in the Wolverine State that made up the 'Keyser's Great Lakes Shootout.' In the $6,000 to win weekend opener on Friday night, Dale posted the fastest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to running third in his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in the 25-lap sprint, Dale drove past a trio of competitors en route to a solid sixth place showing.

Following a rain-out on Saturday evening, the weekend wrapped up on Sunday with a $10,000 to win finale. Dale placed sixth in his heat race and eleventh in his B-Main, but was awarded a series provisional and started the 50-lapper from the inside of the twelfth row. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then worked his way past five racecars during the A-Main and left Merritt with an eighteenth place effort. Dale McDowell Caught Up in Early Wreck in Scorcher at Bulls Gap...

(August 19, 2016) The #17m team rolled into the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on Thursday evening, August 18 for the annual running of the 'Scorcher,' which was sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. Dale McDowell knocked down the second quickest time in his group during the qualifying session prior to scoring the victory in heat race action. After starting the $12,000 to win main event from the inside of the second row, Dale was unfortunately involved in an early scramble, which resulted in his Sweet-Bloomquist car suffering right front suspension issues. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace retired early from the 50-lap affair and wound up twentieth in the final finishing order. McDowell Lands on Podium in $50,000 North/South 100 at Florence

(August 14, 2016) Dale McDowell and the #17m TDR team traveled to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on August 11-13 for both the rain-postponed 'Ralph Latham Memorial' and the 34th Annual 'North/South 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the huge three-day weekend in the Cincinnati-area, as a whopping $80,000 in first place prize money was up for grabs. On Thursday night, Dale finished fifth in his heat race (after being taken out by Timothy Culp) and fourth in his B-Main. Unfortunately, the Chickamauga, Georgia star narrowly missed out on transferring into the $30,000 to win headliner, which was ultimately won by Scott Bloomquist.

At Florence on Friday evening, a double set of heat races kicked off the 'North/South 100' portion of the weekend. Dale placed fourth in his first heat race and second in his final prelim of the night. By virtue of racking up the eighth most passing points, Dale earned the outside of the fourth row for Saturday's $50,000 to win crown jewel main event. McDowell Leads Early in Firecracker 100; Lands on Podium of $30k Special!

(June 26, 2016) Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing (TDR) invaded Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on June 23-25 for the annual running of the 'Firecracker 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. After Thursday's preliminary program was pushed back to Saturday afternoon due to heavy rainfall, Friday's $6,000 to win show went off without a hitch. Dale laid down the quickest lap overall during qualifying to earn Fast Time honors prior to slipping back to third in his heat race. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace then started the 30-lapper from the inside of the seventh row before finishing right where he started... in the thirteenth position.

In the rain-postponed $6,000 to win prelim on Saturday afternoon, Dale won his heat race and later moved up to seventh in the 30-lap feature event. (June 12, 2016) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) made the trek to the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 9-11 for the 22nd edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Things got underway at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Dale McDowell won his heat race in preliminary action and later climbed to fourth in the $5,000 to win main event to finish behind only winner Brandon Sheppard, Ricky Thornton, Jr., and Billy Moyer. In Friday's $10,000 to win show, Dale placed third in his heat race prior to passing six competitors during the 25-lap sprint to run fifth behind only victor Brandon Sheppard, Dennis Erb, Jr., Bobby Pierce, and Billy Moyer.

McDowell Tackles LOLMDS Doubleheader; Finishes Sixth at Boyd's

(April 3, 2016) Team Dillon Racing (TDR) entered a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shootouts on April 1-2 in the states of Georgia and Alabama. On Friday night in front of a jammed-packed crowd at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, Dale McDowell clicked off the second fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session prior to picking up the win in his heat race. After starting the $10,000 to win main event from the outside of the second row, Dale ran amongst the leaders before slipping back to finish sixth in the 50-lapper behind only winner Chris Madden, Randy Weaver, Jared Landers, Jonathan Davenport, and Scott Bloomquist.

At the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday evening, a $12,000 top prize was on the line in the annual running of the 'Bama Bash.' Dale qualified fourteenth quickest overall during time trials and later ran fourth in his loaded heat race.
