(July 15, 2017) The 2017 edition of the Schaeffer's
Oil Southern Nationals Series tour kicked off earlier tonight at the
picturesque Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia. A strong field
of 28 competitors signed into the pit area at the 1/2-mile speedplant
to vie for the $10,000 winner's check in the miniseries lid lifter.
Dale McDowell stopped the clock second quickest in Group A during time
trials prior to recording a heat race triumph. After starting third
on the grid in the 53-lap headliner, Dale was racing Brandon Overton
hard for the second position when he unfortunately spun out of contention
and was placed sixteenth in the final finishing order in the attrition-filled
Moves to Sixth in Mountain Moonshine Classic!
9, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) rolled into Smoky Mountain
Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday evening, July 8 for the
annual running of the 'Mountain Moonshine Classic,' which was once again
sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. A stout 32 car field
assembled at the 4/10-mile complex to vie for the $12,000 winner's check.
Dale McDowell laid down the sixth quickest lap in Group B during the
qualifying session and later grabbed the third transfer spot through
his stacked heat race. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then rallied past
six competitors during the 60-lap finale on his way to a strong sixth
place showing behind only winner Jimmy Owens, Brandon Overton, Scott

Climbs to Sixth in $30,000 Firecracker 100!
25, 2017) The #17m team made their way to Lernerville Speedway
in Sarver, Pennsylvania from June 22-24 for the annual running of the
'Firecracker 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws
Craftsman Late Model Series. After inclement weather wiped out the first
two days in the Keystone State, a day/night doubleheader was held on
Saturday starting with a $6,000 to win afternoon show.
Dale McDowell ran fourth in his heat race, but mechanical troubles
before the start of the 30-lapper relegated him to twenty-sixth in the
final rundown. During the evening portion of the double-dip, Dale also
ran fourth in his stacked heat race prior to blasting past seven competitors
during the $30,000 to win 'Firecracker 100,' which went 100 laps caution-free,
en route to a solid sixth place performance behind only winner Brandon
Overton, Mike Marlar, Tim McCreadie, Don O'Neal, and Chris Madden. Full

a Fixture in Top Ten Throughout DLM Dream Weekend
11, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) traveled to the Buckeye
State of Ohio from June 8-10 for the 23rd edition of the 'Dirt Late
Model Dream.' A stellar field of 79 Super Late Model competitors signed
in at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and all eyes were
focused on the whopping $100,000 winner's share. Things kicked off at
the "Big E" on Thursday and Friday with a pair of preliminary
programs, which paid $5,000 and $10,000 to win respectively in Twin
25 lap sprints.
Dale McDowell finished third in heat race action on Thursday night
prior to moving up to eighth in the 25-lap main event. On Friday evening,
Dale grabbed the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race
before blasting past eleven competitors during the 25-lapper en route
to a strong seventh place effort. The Chickamauga, Georgia star then
ran fourth in his stacked heat race on Saturday before taking the victory
in his B-Main. Dale then stormed by fifteen racecars during the 100-lap
extra distance affair on his way to a sterling sixth place 'Dirt Late

4, 2017) The Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) team and driver Dale
McDowell trekked to the state-of-the-art Virginia Motor Speedway in
Jamaica, Virginia on Saturday, June 3 for the annual edition of the
'USA 100.' The Ultimate Super Late Model Series presided over the single-day
throwdown, which boasted a hefty $20,000 paycheck. Dale McDowell posted
the quickest lap in his group during qualifying prior to taking the
victory in his heat race. After starting the 60-lapper from the inside
of the second row, Dale fell back early in the distance before charging
back up to third to finish behind only victor Scott Bloomquist and runner-up

Sweeps Memorial Day Weekend for $21,000 Windfall!!!
30, 2017) Dale McDowell, of Chickamauga, Georgia, swept a trio
of Super Late Model specials in the states of Georgia and Tennessee
from May 27-29 to pocket a hefty $21,000 windfall! On Saturday evening
at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, Dale stopped the
clock quickest in Group B during Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series
qualifying and later led all fifty circuits of the headliner to bag
the $5,000 winner's check ahead of Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh,
Michael Page, and Jason Croft. At Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on
Sunday night, Dale once again qualified fastest in Group B during the
Spring Nationals time trial session prior to leading the last twenty
circuits of the A-Main en route to capturing the $6,000 payday over
Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh, Ricky Weiss, and Derek Ellis.
In the weekend finale on Monday at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway
in Bulls Gap, Tennessee, a strong contingent of competitors were on
hand for a special Memorial Day throwdown, which was sanctioned by the
Ultimate Super Late Model Series. Dale qualified well and later won
his heat race in preliminary action. "MacDaddy" then drove
to the front and grabbed the point on the 28th circuit before leading
the remainder of the 50-lap distance. Dale claimed the $10,000 paycheck
ahead of Brandon Overton, Ross Bailes, Shanon Buckingham, and Vic Hill.

14, 2017) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) bolted to Smoky Mountain
Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday night, May 13 for the annual
running of the 'Mountain Outlaw 50,' which was sanctioned by the World
of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. Dale McDowell timed in sixth
fastest overall during qualifying prior to running second in his stacked
heat race. After drawing the third starting spot for the $10,000 to
win main event, Dale was running in the third position early in the
50-lapper when a broken rear-end unfortunately sent him pitside. The
Chickamauga, Georgia ace was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth
place effort in last night's 'Mountain Outlaw 50' due to the mechanical

8, 2017) Dale McDowell racked up his second feature win of
the 2017 campaign in exciting fashion on Sunday evening, May 7 at Rome
Speedway in Rome, Georgia! Dale stopped the clock second quickest in
his group during Ultimate Super Late Model Series time trials and later
started the 40-lap main event from the outside of the second row. "MacDaddy"
then bolted past leader Brandon Overton with only three laps remaining
to score the $4,000 windfall over Overton, Donald McIntosh, Jonathan

On Saturday night, May 6, the #17m SMR team was in the pit area at
Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama for a $4,000 to win Southern
All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) shootout. Dale laid down the fastest
lap overall during the qualifying session prior to leading the first
27 circuits in the headliner. At the checkers following forty green
flag laps at TST, the Chickamauga, Georgia standout was a close runner-up

30, 2017) The #17m Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) team entered
a pair of high-profile specials in east Tennessee over the April 28-29
weekend, as they invaded Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap and Smoky Mountain
Speedway in Maryville. On Friday night at "The Gap," the Schaeffer's
Oil Spring Nationals Series presided over the annual 'Scott Sexton Memorial'
and a $10,052 payday was on the line. Dale McDowell timed in seventh
quickest in Group A during qualifying and later placed third in heat
race action. After slipping back to thirteenth in the caution-free 52-lap
headliner, Dale blitzed back through the talented field to place third
in the final finishing order behind only winner Mike Marlar and runner-up
