June 30, 2008 --- McDowell Breaks While Leading at Boyd's...

Dale McDowell and his #17m team invaded the nearby Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia last Friday night, June 27, as the Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series (AAPTS) sanctioned a $4,000 to win show. Dale qualified well and later won the fast dash to earn the pole position for the 40-lap main event. The Chickamauga, Georgia native rocketed to the lead at the drop of the green flag and led the first six circuits. However, following a restart on lap seven, Dale suffered problems underneath the rear-end of his #17m entry that forced him to give up the point. June 27, 2008 --- "MacDaddy" Heads for Boyd's Tonight!!!

Following several weekends off after making a start in the annual $100,000 to win 'Dream 100' at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, Dale McDowell will get back to slinging dirt this weekend! The Chickamauga, Georgia native will travel to the newly-renovated Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia tonight, June 27. The Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series will sanction a $4,000 to win event tonight, which will be highlighted by a 40-lap main event. June 27, 2008 --- Dale McDowell Joins WOOLMS Broadcast Team for 2008!

When the World of Outlaws Late Model Series makes its television debut at 5 p.m. Eastern July 13 on SPEED with the two-hour super-sized Firecracker 100 Presented By Gottarace from Lernerville Speedway, an experienced broadcast team will bring fans all of the action. Shane Andrews and long-time Dirt Late Model superstar Dale McDowell will call the race as Sarah Jane Hunt, who brought viewers the Late Model stories from the Vault World Finals last season, will cover all of the fast-breaking action in the pits.

New to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series broadcast team in 2008, McDowell is a former World of Outlaws Late Model Series competitor and the 2005 World 100 champion who can deliver a unique perspective only somebody who has wheeled one of these 2,300-pound machines around a dirt track can provide. McDowell, a native of Chickamauga, Ga., has more than 25 years of racing experience and now instructs rising stars on the intricacies of dirt track racing.

“We are very exciting to have Dale McDowell join Shane Andrews and Sarah Jane Hunt on our broadcast team,” World Racing Group Chief Marketing Officer Ben Geisler said. “Dale will bring a unique perspective to the broadcasts that has been missing in coverage of Dirt Late Model racing. He will be able to explain to viewers not only what the drivers are experiencing as they turn lap after lap, but also what the cars are going through as they battle toward the checkered flag.”

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will feature not only the two-hour special Firecracker 100 event July 13 on SPEED, but will have four consecutive weekends of coverage this summer, including broadcasts from Deer Creek Speedway airing at 4 p.m. Eastern on Aug. 16; Eldora Speedway at 3 p.m. on Aug. 23; Sharon Speedway at Noon on Aug. 31; and Tri-City Speedway at 6 p.m. Eastern on Sept. 7. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will also star in the live three-hour super-sized special Vault World Finals at 8 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 1.

 
June 9, 2008 --- McDowell Transfers into 14th Annual 'Dream 100' at Eldora!

Dale McDowell invaded the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 6-7 for the 14th Annual 'Dream 100.' Driving Austin Dillon's #3 GRT machine, Dale timed in thirty-seventh fastest of the 122 entrants during qualifying on Friday night, June 6. When the action resumed at the "Big E" on Saturday, the Chickamauga, Georgia native finished fourth in his heat race before pulling off a dramatic last lap pass on Brady Smith in the B-Main to earn the fourth and final transfer position into the $100,000 to win 'Dream 100.' After starting twenty-fourth on the grid for the 100-lap affair, Dale was working on making his way towards the front of the stout field before slowing to bring out a lap 36 caution.
