Dale McDowell Concludes 2011 Season at Cleveland and Cherokee!

(CHICKAMAUGA, GEORGIA) The Clint Bowyer Racing team and driver Dale McDowell wrapped up their 2011 campaign on November 19-20 with a pair of high-profile events in the states of Tennessee and South Carolina. On Saturday night, the historic Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee played host to the annual running of the 'Gobbler.' Dale timed in fourth fastest in Southern Allstars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) qualifying to earn the outside second row starting spot in the $5,000 to win A-Main. During the course of the 50-lap 'Gobbler,' Dale was able to move up one position to finish in the third spot behind only winner Ray Cook and runner-up Jonathan Davenport.

Next up for the #17m team was a trip to the renowned Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina on Sunday for the 21st edition of the 'Blue/Gray 100.' Dale grabbed the fourth transfer spot in his loaded heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the eighth row in the 100-lapper. The Chickamauga, Georgia ace was on the move from the drop of the green flag in the 'Blue/Gray 100' and blasted through the talented field to grab the top spot on lap 68. Unfortunately, second place runner Jonathan Davenport threw an errant slide-job on the seventy-second circuit, which collected McDowell and relegated him to a very disappointing seventeenth place finish in the $10,000 to win season finale. With the season now complete for the Clint Bowyer Racing team, they can reflect on their solid year. In the sixty-two races that he entered in 2011, Dale amassed one win, twelve Top Fives, and thirty Top Tens. The driver known as "MacDaddy" entered most of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events again this year and wound up eleventh in the final point standings. His lone victory came back on August 4 in an unsanctioned $5,000 to win show at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia. Below is a list of accomplishments:
